Gutter cleaning and unblocking
Leaves, moss, grit and nests cleared out, downpipes flushed, and the mess taken away rather than left in your garden.
Blocked, leaking or sagging spouting sorted across Nelson, Richmond, Motueka and Māpua.
I clean, unblock, repair and replace gutters and spouting across Richmond, Motueka, Māpua, Nelson and the wider Tasman district, and I am an authorised agent for Gutter Solutionz gutter guard.
That covers everything from a one-off clean through to a full guard system fitted to the whole roofline. Quotes are free.
Scope
Leaves, moss, grit and nests cleared out, downpipes flushed, and the mess taken away rather than left in your garden.
Leaking joints, splits, rust holes and gutters that have pulled away from the fascia, put back where they belong.
Tired or undersized spouting replaced with new, set at the right fall so it actually drains.
Custom fitted Gutter Solutionz systems, so you stop clearing gutters out twice a year for good.
Why it matters
Blocked gutters are not really a gutter problem. Water that cannot get away backs up under the roof edge, runs down the wall, and finds its way into fascia boards, soffits, cladding and eventually the framing. By the time you can see it from the ground, it has usually been happening for a while.
A clean and a check costs very little next to repairing water damage. If you have trees anywhere near the roofline, once or twice a year is about right. If you would rather stop thinking about it altogether, that is what the guard systems are for.

Worth knowing
You probably need a clean, a repair or a replacement if you have noticed:
Catching these early saves you from far more expensive damage to the roof, walls and foundations.
Authorised agent
I am an authorised agent for Gutter Solutionz, who manufacture and custom fit metal gutter guard systems built for New Zealand conditions.
The range covers louvred metal mesh guards, the Clip'n Flush plumbed cleaning system, and certified Snow Straps for extra structural support where snow and hail are a factor.
They keep out leaves, birds, rodents, snow and hail, and stop the water damage that comes with blocked gutters. The products are backed by nationwide warranties, and because they are custom fitted they suit odd rooflines rather than just straight runs.

I highly recommend Daniel from Handy Property Care! He helped us with repairs around the house, including some roof work and fixing a shelf in the kitchen. He was efficient, friendly, and punctual, and his prices are reasonable.
We are very pleased with the work that Dan from Handy Property Care has done on our properties. His completed work is of a high standard, whether outside (garden maintenance) or indoors. He recently refurbished a bathroom that had extensive water damage, and again, superb workmanship.
Dan communicates clearly, turns up when he says he will, does a great job and charges appropriately. He's done long grass strimming for me twice now and I'd highly recommend him. I'll be back for all future tasks needing doing!
Once or twice a year for most homes. If you have trees close to the house, particularly natives that drop year round, lean towards twice, with one of those in late autumn once the leaves are down. Homes with nothing overhanging can often stretch longer.
A properly fitted metal guard keeps leaves, nesting material and the bulk of the debris out, which is the part that causes blockages. It is not a reason to never look at your roof again, but it changes gutter clearing from a regular chore into something you rarely think about.
Usually it can be fixed. Sagging is often failed brackets or a fall that has dropped over time, and both can be put right. If the gutter itself is rusted through or split along a length, replacing that run is the better spend.
Yes. Clearing the channel and leaving a blocked downpipe achieves very little, so downpipes get flushed as part of the job.
It comes away with me. You should not be finding heaps of wet leaf litter on the lawn after a gutter clean.
Worth a read

A short autumn list that prevents the expensive problems. Most of it takes an afternoon.

Once or twice a year for most Tasman homes, and which one depends almost entirely on what is growing above your roofline.
